Update On My Absense

I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking about my blogs as I haven’t posted in these last few weeks.

As most of you know, I have a close family member who has been sick for a long time. I’ve written blogs about how this person has inspired me further to live my life and encourage others to do the same. One example is this blog here titled “Live a Life of Life”.

In these last few weeks, this person’s disease has progressed quickly and I’ve become their full time care giver in addition to two of my other family members.

It’s a very challenging time for us and I’ve been focusing my attention on my family during this difficult time. My blogs have been put on the back burner in the meantime.

I wanted to share that I’m still here but in the meantime I’m taking time to focus on what I need to prioritize at this time and this means my blogs aren’t going to be a priority nor is social media. I’ve been told that my family member has a few weeks left or, if we are lucky, a month or two. I want to spend their last days helping them and present as much as possible.

This person has been my best friend my whole life. I love them dearly and would do anything for them. I am grateful for the life that I have because of them and the patience and love that they showed me throughout my life. They deserve nothing short of the best.

A lot of people have also asked if I’m still around during my regular Wednesday through Saturday schedules and the answer is yes. However, there are days where I may have to reschedule due to appointments coming up or emergencies happening that I have to be present for. I want to reassure you that having these days of separation from the reality of my family member’s failing health has been refreshing and helpful for my mental health. As a caregiver, it’s important to have breaks and maintain some sort of normalcy in our lives, even if just for a few moments during the week. It’s also important not to overwhelm ourselves taking on too many tasks and prioritize what is important.

I have a non exhaustive list of blog topics that I have written and many blogs that I want to post (and add to when I feel the time is right). I write my blogs with passion and share them when I feel the time is right. At this point, I want to save them for another time when my heart feels as though the time is right and my mind feels inspired enough to share.

I want to thank everyone for their continuous following and emotional support during this difficult time. I know this time will not last forever, which is relieving and difficult all at the same time. I also want to thank everyone for reaching out, for their kindness, patience with me and understanding that I’m doing my best to navigate this difficult time.

With love and gratitude,

Autumn Addison

Family always comes first. Take your time and spend as much as possible with them. Don't make my mistake.
